Jeff Tanzer aka Jeffrey 'Fast Fingers' has been a performing guitarist, vocalist, songwriter for the past 38 years.
He started out playing in local rock bands on the North Shore of Massachusetts doing covers and originals, eventually turning to playing blues, r&b and Motown.
In 1974 he joined ex Muddy Waters guitarist Luther 'Georgia Boy' Johnson, which led to extensive touring and performances with Muddy, James Cotton, Houndog Taylor and many of the performing blues artists at that time.
After spending a year in Virginia playing in various local country bands. Jeff moved to the central New York area after an invite from a dj friend of his, joining the country rock band Solid Oak. He was a frequent guest performer with many of the artists in that area. While in New York he performed with Bonnie Raitt, Wolfman Jack, the Nighthawks and opened for such artists as Peter Tosh, Earl Slick and country artist Larry Gatlin to name a few.
Jeff eventually returned home to the Boston area. In 1989 he did a short college tour with blues pianist Pinetop Perkins and guitarist Bill Dicey. He also performed with local oldies and country artists throughout the '80s.
In the early '90s Jeff started the band the Unusuals which released two albums of original material which he wrote and arranged. The band continues to perform to this day.
Now in 2005 Jeff has released another album titled 'Bite Into It', which is starting to get some national airtime. The cd has the single 'Down In New Orleans' which was recorded before Katrina. A very rockin tune that truly embodies the spirit of that great city. The album is in the process of being distrbuted to radio here and abroad. Proceeds of the albums sale will be used to help the people of New Orleans.
