WITHOUT BORDERS: Passage
Though the language of music, Without Borders works to tear down walls and build bridges between people. Originally conceived through a creative collaboration with the Moving Poets Theater of Dance and the Echo Foundation, Without Borders is a chamber ensemble dedicated to the creation and performance of original works. Because of this previous collaboration, some of the music is somewhat politically charged to bring about an awareness of the AIDS epidemic, and to reflect the efforts of the world-wide organization, Doctors Without Borders. In essence, the music is without borders combining western musical traditions with African folk themes, Middle Eastern idioms and Asian elements.
