===========================================================
The Wakefields are an alt-country band based out of Seattle Washington who play a well rounded set of traditional roots music ranging from Bakersfield country, to tinges of rockabilly to more mainstream influenced music. Along with original songs, they specialize in covering the B-side songs that somehow missed the radio play in their day.
People who have heard them perform have compared them to The Mavericks, The Derailers or The Jayhawks, all eclectic bands they are more than pleased to be associated with. With former members of the Western Swing outfit Six String Eric and his Lazy Ranch Hands, and mid-West roots, their sound became enriched in various Americana genres they are proud of.
"Falling Down Blue - Record Sampler" contains five original songs and is a preview of the upcoming release by the same name. It was recorded by Seattle engineer Martin Feveyear who has worked with many great bands including "The Presidents Of The United States", "The Minus 5" and members of GNR.
