SARGENT TUCKER: Sargent Tucker and Comrades
Anada Records introduces Recording Artist Sargent Tucker on the new compilation CD, Sargent Tucker . . . and Comrades. This diverse CD covers several genres of music, as it combines traditional Urban R&B, Rock, and modern Jazz. Funky, smooth, and provocative, this CD rocks! A variety of compositions are provided for a musically diverse listening audience, blending various artistic styles. The Artists performing on the Album include: Sargent Tucker (Urban R&B) Rick Lilley (Rock) Kevin Burton (Jazz Organist) and Carl Lockett (Blues/Jazz) Guitarist; each have recorded and performed with many of today's greatest artists. This Album is a collective effort from artists, who chose to produce their own product challenging traditional thinking while providing good, clean, grass roots music for the public to hear. A Vibe Magazine reviewer, comments on an original from the Compilation CD Album, "Tucker has a really catchy ..."I Need Your Love."
Sargent Tucker is the featured vocalist, and founder of the self-contained group "Sargent." Their music appeals to a wide-range adult audience.
Live performances are on target as the group displays its diverse musical talent, playing grass roots, Rock/Blues, Urban R&B, Motown Classics, and other popular dance music, including original compositions by Tucker.
Live performances and CD release parties for the New Compilation CD are scheduled throughout the West Coast Region (San Francisco Bay Area).
As a graduate from the University of California Davis, Sargent Tucker holds two college degrees. His success as a writer, artist, and producer, is evidenced by his earlier production, "Come See Me." This song was chosen for Macola Records compilation album titled,
"Sun Set Strip," which also included the now defunct
(N.W.A.). Thus, Sargent Tucker's "Come See Me" was released as a double-sided single featured along with the hit (Turn Off The Lights) produced by Famed Hip-Hop producer Dr. Dre, and the World Class Wrecking Cru.
"Come See Me," marched up the international charts in the UK, France, and Germany.
Positive music reviews have been received on Sargent's New Compilation CD. After listening to "I Need Your Love," another music reviewer comments, "It's a really laid back slab of jazzy soul." Sargent Tucker's talents and leadership abilities were recognized early. While a member of an award winning Kennedy High school Jazz Band, he co-founded the group "2 Things In 1." This group signed with Music City Records, and released "Silly Song," which became number one on the regional charts, followed by "Together Forever," that reached audiences, nationally, also climbing to number one regionally.
