JARET CAMPISI: Pineapple Sunrise
Hey my name is Jaret Campisi and I started playing guitar when I was 15 after listening to a Dave Matthews cd. I immediately fell in love with the acoustic guitar and haven't put it down ever since. Before I knew it I was writing my own songs and playing out around some local places. Most people seemed to like what I was doing so I decided to record my music and put it up on the web for everyone to hear.I primarily taught myself how to play and sing so much of the chords I use are unconventional but I think that gives it an authentic feel that you won't find with to many other artists. Most of the songs I write come from things that happen in my life, or stuff I see going on in the world around me. Along with writing songs that are meaningful to me, I try to incorporate larger lessons that everyone can relate to as well. Although I'm only 22 I feel I have a different approach to offer people a fresh way of looking at life in a new light, which is why my album is titled Pineapple Sunrise. Besides playing guitar, I am finishing up my last semester at Penn Sate University where I am studying Graphic Information Systems. I also ran track for penn state where I ended up winning the Big Ten Championships in the 400 Hurdles in 2005 and ran in the USA championships that same year. When I won big tens I ran a 50.2 and was ranked 40th in the world at the time, which doesn't really mean much, but I think it sounds cool. haha Anyway, I'm still running currently to see where it takes me while trying to jumpstart my music career as well.
