DELTA 88: Delta 88
Combining elements of various American musical genres such as country, jazz, folk, and rockabilly, Delta 88 creates a unique style that is at once original and familiar.Delta 88's debut album represents the culmination of a year of playing out in the Ann Arbor area.
The trio of Danny Kline (voice), Alex Anest (guitar), and John Sperendi (bass) was augmented on various tunes by guest drummers, horn players, and especially Jeff Plankenhorn on Dobro.
Delta 88 relies on the talents of its members to convey the meaning of its tunes.
The songs, mostly written by Danny, are honest and simple reflections of real life.
Alex and John weave flowing melodic lines around Danny's vocals to create an atmosphere appropriate for each composition, from mellow and relaxed to driving and energetic.
