SEMIGIANT: SemiGiant
SemiGiant Releases Self Titled Debut Denver/Boulder Band unleashes, SemiGiant, nine track CD plus a LIVE cut from
The Soiled Dove
Denver, CO- February 2003- Denver/Boulder band SemiGiant releases their self-titled debut CD. The band stir-fries the talents of three veteran musicians to offer a fresh voice in the modern groove-rock arena. Their songs are as pure as American music gets with songs so catchy they wake up in bed with you the next morning.
The album was recorded just 3 weeks after the band's inception at AirStream Studios. SemiGiant is packed with 10 tracks that combine songwriting crafted to perfection, rootsy chord changes, honest lyrics and smooth beats. Subterranean bass licks glide the listener through American music at its best leaving its indelible mark upon the ear.
As the sound has matured, the live show holds nothing back. They'll take you from whiskey-drenched slide guitar to pulsating combustible grooves of the stratosphere peppered with juicy licks not heard live since Jimi. This is no noodle-band. SemiGiant stay true to the tunes while erupting into jaw-dropping jams as inspiration takes hold and brings you along for the ride. SemiGiant's management is solidifying bookings throughout the spring and summer.
Guitarist, songwriter and lead vocalist Scott McNew hails from the talent-saturated Bloomington, IN music scene. With his band Joint Session, he worked with national organizations such as The Rex Foundation benefit concerts and national acts such as The Drovers, Mr. Blotto, Jupiter Coyote and The Why Store. His songs have been featured in web-movies and is currently featured in an LA based play called, "The Adventures of Jack Black."
Bassist, Todd Richards, is a staple from Ft. Lauderdale's thriving late night music scene, as well as Bloomington and Indianapolis, IN. His unmatched abilities in playing, recording and sound make him extremely rare. Leaving no instrument overlooked, Todd also has mastered rhythm guitar and drums.
Drummer, Mark Messenger recently joined SemiGiant after a 10-year stint with regional band Phantom Freeway.
