The Milwaukees "create adventurous music that is complex and viscerally gripping." (Newark Star Ledger). Their combination of melody and energy separates them from the formulaic rock bands that dominate much of the music scene. It is this combination that lead Time Out New York to say, "[The Milwaukees] distinguish themselves from the rest of the emo-rock crowd by actually expressing some emotion, rather than just peering inward, and they charge forward with energy with nice melodies and harmonies."

Combining influences that range from early-nineties post-punk and indie rock bands such as Dinosaur Jr, Sebadoh, Teenage Fanclub, and Nirvana to the best rock songwriters like Lennon/McCartney and Elvis Costello, with an unabashed taste for classic rock, The Milwaukees play music that truly moves you.

The band has worked to spread the word with substantial touring in the US and across Canada. They have played colleges, bars, theaters, and basements. Their music has been featured in a Miller beer commercial (unfortunately the free beer never arrived) and on MTV's Undressed. They have been asked to perform at NEMO, NxNE, and WE Fest. They have shared bills with Shades Apart, The Juliana Theory, The Bouncing Souls, Errortype:11, and Pilot To Gunner, and have been nominated for several Asbury Park Music Awards. Milwaukees shows regularly sell out Maxwells, Hoboken, New Jersey's legendary indie-rock club.

However, The Milwaukees are not a band to dwell on past accomplishments. They are hungry to grow their fanbase and are constantly evolving-pushing themselves to their limits. In order to build on the momentum the band gained with their previous releases, The Milwaukees enlisted the services of the legendary indie-rock producer, John Agnello (Jawbox, Dinosaur Jr). The result is the 11 song masterpiece "This Is A Stickup." It is by far the band's best work to date, showcasing their power and song-writing prowess. The album has already been touted as "A dazzling record" by Jersey Beat.

"This Is a Stickup" was licensed for simulataneous release in Canada, the UK and Japan in April 2003. To support the release, The Milwaukees will tour extensively in the US and are planning a 3-week tour of Europe in the fall of 2003.
