MY VOICE HIS BEATS: Dream State

Dream State is the combined effort of best friends Derek A. Brown Sr. (The Voice) and Nazario Bell (The Beats). This is one of those CD's that you pop in while you are coolin out having a romantic evening with your significant other. You can play it track after track without having to jump up and advance to the next song because the mood has changed. As freaky as this CD is, it has an elegance to it. No one has never made talkin dirty sound so good.

Derek is an accomplished author with four self-published poetry books to his credit. He started writing poetry after attending a poetry reading with a good friend in 1999. He was so moved by the energy that the room contained, that he was compelled to try his hand at the art. To keep from sounding like anyone else, Derek decided to write love poetry, which was the one thing that he noticed was missing at the venue he attended. He wrote his first poem, â€œFoolishâ€ and shared it with a close female friend. She couldnâ€™t believe that heâ€™d written it. He started getting out and sharing his work with others and has managed to generate a very nice fan base.

Derek has traveled all around the Mid West, the South and even the Caribbean performing his work. Everywhere he goes, he uses the sultry tones of his voice and the spicy words of his poetry to get unsuspecting women twisting in their seats. When it comes to erotica, no one can do it quite it like Derek Brown does it.

Musically, Nazario Bell is on point. He is comfortable playing whatever instrument that is placed in front of him, but he is most at home with a set of drums or a keyboard. As a teenager, Nazario played with several drum chores and in his high schools marching band. As an adult he has played with various groups and most recently he has become the resident drummer for his church choir. Nazario has produced tracks for other poets in the STL and he is constantly looking for new sounds.

As a producer, he has the knack to be able to hear the subtle things that you can do to make a track outstanding. Nazario has never been afraid to try things that some producers would shy away from and this is what makes him stand out. Together, Derek and Nazario are changing the sound of poetry with every track that they make.
